glenfisAcademy: Sustainable knowledge transfer for IT governance

Through the change in information technology to become a strategic service sector and the requirement for standardisation, IT service management becomes a prerequisite for senior management and IT specialists. However, in classical information technology training, knowledge on handling organisational change, development of service organisations and processes or the management of operational risks and competency requirements is not imparted.

International standards and frameworks such as ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) for IT service management or CobiT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) for the development of a consistent monitoring system are standards that are already widely used; and constitute major factors of IT governance. Of course, such capabilities can be purchased externally. But IT governance lives from continuous reviewing and optimising. Therefore it is clear to us: that IT service management cannot be purchased externally, but must be carried internally. Only in this way will continuity be guaranteed.
